DOCUMENTARY FILM










In Grote Vraag (which translates to Big Question), Jona Meijer and I wonder about the meaning of life. We search for the answer by exploring different perspectives. For example, we interview people who we think might have the answer such as our parents, a pastor, a psychologist, a philosopher and a medium. We also climb a mountain to literally see a different perspective, and go on a truffle trip. We documented our research and made it into a documentary, where you can see our journey.

Short Space Jump is a visual poem, which explores the profession of ultra marathon running as a metaphor for fatigue of the digital age, and mental health issues. It’s a 5 minute video using different ways of screen recording to tell a narrative.

stoelendans is a 10-minute film in which Jona Meijer and I declare our love for the chair. In the film we put the everyday object on a stage. The film was made out of interest in the relationship you have as a human being with sitting and with the chair, which we started to explore in different forms. The film contains interviews with people, and experimentation with the chair in the studio and footage we shot in a second hand shop. 






















MEN THAT CRIED

COLLECTIVE QUILT

























Men That Cried is a quilt made in collaboration with different men from my surroundings. I visited these men to open the conversation about vulnerability among men. In doing so, I visited their homes and we started to talk about their experiences in daily life concerning vulnerability, as well as how they experienced this grew up. Each man quilted a little piece to the quilt, and at the end of each  conversation we had, I asked them what they wanted to pass along to other men. Those texts were printed on the quilt afterwards. I documented these visits with 
analogue photography.
